The Jezioro Sromowskie even Zbiornik Sromowski or Sromowce called, is a reservoir on the rivers Dunajec and Niedziczanka in the Polish Malopolska province . Upstream is the significantly larger Jezioro Czorsztyńskie reservoir . It lies between the Spiš and Podhale regions and the Pieninen and Gorce mountain ranges in the Kotlina Nowotarska valley at the foot of the Tatra Mountains .

Behind the 11 m high dam the water which is Dunajec and Niedziczanka dammed. The inflow area covers over 1300 km². With full back which includes reservoir 7.5 million cubic meters of water. The water area is then 1 km². The dam is 11 m high and over 460 m long.
history
The decision to build the dam was made in 1964 and construction began in 1970. The reservoir was finally flooded in 1994. It is used as a protective storage against flooding and a hydroelectric power station. Road No. 543 between Niedzica and Krośnica leads over the dam .
tourism
On the shores of the higher bathing lake Jezioro Czorsztyńskie there are two castles, the Niedzica Castle and the Czorsztyn Castle , the ski area on Mount Wdżar , the Pieninen National Park with the Dunajec Gorge , as well as several stalls and marinas with sailing boats, pedal boats and kayaks can be rented. Not far from the reservoir is the Białka Gorge and the Tatra and Gorce National Parks .
