Adventure in the Willows ( Jap. 楽しいウイロータウン, Tanoshii uiro Taun for Tanoshii Willow Town , dt "The funny willow city".) Is an anime - TV series , which from 1993 to 1994 in Japanese - Canadian originated cooperation. The stories are based on the novel The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame .

The water rat Flax lives together with her friends, the mole Schaufel and the frog Toddy Fröschel in a small town by the river called Weidenstedt. Together they experience many adventures and often have to deal with Fiesel-Wiesel and his gang.

Production and publication

The series was produced by Enoki Films in Japan between 1993 and 1994 . E&G Films was responsible for the animations. The director took Tameo Kohanawa . For the character design was Toshiyasu Okada responsible and the artistic direction was Mitsuharu Miyamae and Takeshi Waki . The music in the series was taken over by Osamu Tezuka . The theme song Yume ni Konnichi wa Willow Town Monogatari and the credits song Liverpool e Oide are by Masami Okui . The music production was taken over by TV Tokyo Music and the sound production by E&M Planning Center.

The series was first broadcast from October 7, 1993 to March 31, 1994 on TV Tokyo in Japan. The German first broadcast took place on September 6, 1997 on Das Erste im Tigerenten Club . Further broadcasts were also made on MDR , SWR , Hr-fernsehen and KIKA , RBB Berlin . The series has also been translated into English, Spanish and Portuguese.
