Christian Schandor (* 1974 in Fürstenfeld ) is an Austrian politician from the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). He is a teacher at a technical college (HTL) and a lecturer at the Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in the field of aviation . From November 9, 2017 to October 22, 2019, he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

Christian Schandor attended the HTBLA Eisenstadt and studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Graz from 1995 to 2001 (Dipl.-Ing.). Between 2006 and 2008 he studied engineering education at the Burgenland University of Education. Schandor holds the rank of colonel in the Austrian armed forces . Between 2004 and 2008 he was in charge of Fliegerwerft 2 (in Zeltweg ; stationing the Eurofighter Typhoon ).

In 2008 Schandor was pushed out of office by Chief of Staff Edmund Entacher , which is why Schandor brought a statement of facts to the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office in 2009 to prosecute corruption due to possible abuse of office and coercion. In spring 2010 he was head of the shipyard again, but in January 2011 he applied for a two-year parental leave and was therefore decommissioned. In 2015, Schandor was the top candidate for the FPÖ with the list of "FPÖ and independents" in the municipal council election in Fürstenfeld and moved into the municipal council. Schandor is a teacher at the HTL Weiz and lecturer at the FH Joanneum in the master's degree in aviation . On November 9, 2017, Schandor was sworn in as a member of the National Council. After the 2019 National Council election , in which the FPÖ lost numerous mandates, he left the National Council.
