Jhalawar ( Hindi : झालावाड़ , Jhālāvāṛ ) is a place with about 67,000 inhabitants (2011 census) in the Indian state of Rajasthan . It is the capital of the Jhalawar Administrative District .
The Kali Sindh River flows east of the city. The national highway NH 12 ( Kota - Bhopal ) runs through Jhalawar.
Jhalawar was the capital of the former princely state of Jhalawar . Gagron Fortress is located 4 km north of the city on the banks of the Kali Sindh.
