Jiří Mikesz (born December 11, 1986 in Karviná , Czechoslovakia ) is a German- Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with EV Lindau in the Bavarian League since August 2015 .

Career

Jiří Mikesz went through all the junior teams of HC Havířov and was used in the U18 extra league from 2002. He played for the U18 and U20 teams of his home club until 2004 before playing for HC Orlova in the second Czech junior league for two years. Before the 2006/07 season, he completed trial training with the Hamburg Freezers , which provided him with a sponsorship license. During the season, however, he was only used in the upper league at the Eisbären Juniors Berlin .

In the summer of 2007 he took part in the training camp of the Dresden ice lions and convinced the management of the ice lions that they signed him. With the Eislöwen he made it to the 2nd Bundesliga and won the league championship in 2008 . In November and December 2008 he was used with the Blue Lions Leipzig with a production license before he returned to the Ice Lions in January 2009. In the summer of 2009 he completed the Blue Lions training camp as a test player and was signed at the end of August.

After a year with the fourth division club EHC Bayreuth , Mikesz was committed to the 2011/12 season by the Kassel Huskies from the Oberliga. In July 2012, the Icefighters Leipzig , founded after the bankruptcy of the Blue Lions, brought Mikesz back to Leipzig. Mikesz has been under contract with EV Lindau in the Bayern League since August 2013 .
