Jim J. Bullock

Jim J. Bullock (* 9. February 1955 in Casper , Wyoming as James Jackson Bullock ) is an American actor . He became known in Germany as Neal Tanner, brother of Willie Tanner in the television series Alf .

Life

Jim J. Bullock was born in Casper, Wyoming, but moved with his family early to Texas , where he grew up in the city of Odessa . He originally wanted to be a priest and attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee , Oklahoma .

Instead of becoming a priest, Bullock went to television and became a well-known entertainment actor in the 1980s. He played in the theater and had some successful television appearances with supporting roles in the sitcoms Too Close for Comfort and Alf . In the latter series he played Neal, the brother of Willie Tanner, in the fourth season.

In 1987 he played a supporting role as Prince Valium in Mel Brooks ' Star Wars parody Spaceballs .

After the Alf series was discontinued in 1990, Bullock remained loyal to television and theater. He made several appearances on American television series and briefly ran a talk show with American television evangelist Tammy Faye Messner. From 2004 to 2007, Bullock played a supporting role as teacher, Mr. Monroe, on the series Ned's Ultimate School Madness .

In 2007 he toured the United States with the Broadway production Hairspray .

Bullock had never concealed his homosexuality. The characters he played were often extravagant, crazy or feminist. He was diagnosed with the HI virus in 1985 , which has made him known today as a long-term survivor of the disease.
