Jim McBride (born September 16, 1941 in New York City ) is a screenwriter , television and film producer and director .

Career

McBride began his career in 1967 with the style of cinema verite twisted mockumentary about the fictional character of David Holzman. He won the grand prize of the “Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival” with the film, shot for US $ 2,500. David Holzman's Diary was a commercial success and was included in the National Film Registry in 1991.

His follow-works documentary My Girlfriend's Wedding from 1969 and Pictures from Life's Other Side (1971) received little attention, first with Breathless , the remake of Jean-Luc Godard's Breathless with Richard Gere in the lead role McBride was in 1983 draw attention to yourself again.
