A Different Jimi or A Different Jimi (* 1971 in Emden ; actually Bernd Siebel) is a German musician of electronic music , saxophonist , composer , music producer , jazz - DJ and visual artist . He was a member of various bands , now works as a solo artist, lives and works in Hamburg .

Live and act

He grew up with his three siblings first in Emden and then in Willmsfeld, East Frisia, near Wittmund . In the early 1990s, Jimi Siebels moved to Hamburg and founded the house duo Egoexpress with Mense Reents , which has been on pause since 2007; and with Pascal Fuhlbrügge the band Sand11 .

In between he was a guest musician on albums of well-known bands or musicians such as B. the stars , JaKönigJa or Andreas Dorau . Siebels also acted as a live musician for Dorau. With Thies Mynther and Mense Reents, he ran the Imperial Studio in the 1990s, in which some productions of the so-called Hamburg School were made.

From 2007 to 2014 Siebels performed as a solo artist and DJ under the name A Different Jimi in Germany. He has made a few solo releases. In 2010/2011 he produced the debut album Welcome To Wherever You're Not and two maxi releases for DJ Phono . Since 2012 Siebels has mainly been working as a theater musician.
