Jimin Oh-Havenith
Jimin Oh-Havenith (born December 27, 1960 in Seoul , South Korea ) is a Korean-German pianist.
Life
She received her first piano lessons at the age of six. After attending Seouls Arts High School, she studied music at Seoul National University with Jin-Woo Chung. In 1980 she came to Germany and studied with Aloys Kontarsky at the Cologne University of Music and graduated in 1984 with a diploma.
During her studies, she played concerts in Germany and abroad (including Hong Kong, South Korea). In addition to her concert activities as a soloist, she performed as a piano duo with her then husband, Raymund Havenith († 1993), with whom she made numerous radio ( WDR , DLF , NDR , SWF ) and recordings.
Jimin Oh-Havenith taught at the University of Mainz and the University of Music and Performing Arts, Frankfurt am Main .
