Jimmy Carr
Jimmy Carr (born September 15, 1972 in Hounslow , London ) is a British comedian and television presenter .
Life
Carr was born in Limerick to Irish parents in 1972 and grew up in Buckinghamshire, England . He studied Politics and Social Sciences at Cambridge . He then worked in the marketing department of the Shell oil company . In 1999 he started making a living doing stand-up performances. In 2002 he appeared in the Royal Variety Performance and took part in the Edinburgh Festival for the first time . This appearance led to a contract with the television station Channel 4 . He subsequently served as the presenter of the panel show Distraction and the game show Your Face or Mine? to see and later as a moderator of 8 out of 10 Cats . He is a regular guest on the British quiz show QI (Quite Interesting) . His first DVD, Jimmy Carr: Live , was released in 2004 . From 2004 he started working in the United States. There, among other things, an American version of Distraction was produced for Comedy Central , and he also had several appearances in each of late-night shows by Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno .
When his third solo DVD Jimmy Carr: Comedian was released , the two predecessors had sold around 300,000 copies, and by the fourth DVD, around 650,000 of the first three had been sold.
Occur
Carr usually appears clean-shaven, dressed in suits or at least a jacket and parted on the side , which counteracts his sometimes provocative and insulting statements on stage. His programs consist of precisely presented jokes, many of which are one-liners , as well as audience interaction.
