Jindřich Skácel (born November 3, 1979 in Prostějov ) is a Czech football player .

Career

Jindřich Skácel began playing football with OP Prostějov, at the age of 14 he moved to Sigma Olomouc . The 1995/96 season spent the goalkeeper in the youth of FC Baník Ostrava and then returned to Olomouc .

At the age of 17, the 2.04 meter tall Skácel made the leap into the professional team in the 1997/98 season. At that time he was considered to be the greatest goalkeeper talent in Czech football before Petr Čech , and in the same season he became a regular goalkeeper in the U-21 national team. Skácel, who was predicted to have a great future, was at the height of his career. After 35 games, he left Sigma Olomouc after a private feud with sports director Jiří Kubíček in the direction of Slavia Prague . Plagued by a back injury, he only played for the B team in the third division. In the 2001/02 season he was loaned to FK Drnovice , for which he played 16 games. The following year Skácel made four games for Sigma Olomouc's B team.

In the summer of 2003 he was signed by Slavia Prague for one and a half million crowns, but was again unable to prevail. In the spring of 2004 he was loaned to Marila Příbram , for whom he was twice between the posts. He returned to Slavia in the summer and went to Brazil in the fall of 2004 . At the beginning of April 2005 he returned to the Czech Republic and was hired by Marila Příbram as a contract amateur. After a few months he moved to SC Xaverov , in September 2005 he was signed by 1. FC Brno , but there he only played for the B team.

In 2006 Skácel finally moved to the fourth division for FC Graffin Vlašim . His next stop was in 2008, the then Slovak first division club FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce , in spring 2009 the goalkeeper played for the Czech third division club FK Mutěnice. In the summer of 2009 Skácel was loaned for a year from the first division relegated FC Tescoma Zlín .

In October 2006 he was voted the biggest disappointment in Czech football by the Czech sports magazine Hattrick.

In an interview with the daily Deník Sport , he cited his back problems as the reason for his failure, as well as the argument with the Olomouc functionary Jiří Kubíček. Other sources cited his problematic character as the cause of his failure.
