João Diogo Correia Saraiva Nunes Barata is a Portuguese diplomat .

Life

From May 3, 1983 to July 12, 1983, he was the provisional chargé d'affaires at the Portuguese Embassy in Maputo , Mozambique . This was followed by the post of ambassador in Rabat , Morocco , from January 23, 1986 to May 9, 1986 . He was also the non-resident ambassador to Malta from 1994 to July 28, 1994 .

On August 31, 1993 he was appointed Ambassador to Rome in Italy . He was also accredited in San Marino . By decree of January 28, 1999, he was recalled from office. Until around 2003 he took on the role of ambassador to Berlin in Germany .

Until 2004 he was the Portuguese ambassador to Moscow in Russia and was therefore also responsible for a number of other countries. In the same year he was sent to Brussels as ambassador . He held this position until 2006.

Awards

On July 21, 1987, he was appointed Grand Officer of the Order of Infante Dom Henrique .
