João Luiz Ferreira da Silva called Preto (born June 12, 1981 in Novo Hamburgo ) is a Brazilian soccer player .

He started his career at Vila Nova FC . In 2000 he moved to Germany. First to TSV Schwieberdingen and later to the Stuttgarter Kickers . In the 2003/04 season he played four games in the Polish first division at Zagłębie Lubin .

Since September 2006 Preto has been under contract with the Brazilian first division club Portuguesa in São Paulo.
