The TSV Schwieberdingen has approximately 2,000 members of the largest membership and most traditional sports club in Schwieberdingen . The most successful departments are fistball (Bundesliga) and football (Oberliga Baden-Württemberg) and handball (Baden-Württemberg Oberliga), as well as judo , basketball , athletics , swimming , table tennis , gymnastics and volleyball .

history

The club was founded on August 1, 1906 as the Schwieberdingen gymnastics club . Initially, the association's work was characterized exclusively by gymnastics , which at that time also included gymnastics and athletic disciplines . In 1919 the first football department was founded within the club , but it was disbanded a short time later. During this time, the Schwieberdingen workers' sports club was primarily dedicated to football . This was accused of being infiltrated by communists in 1933 after the National Socialists came to power and was banned. Members were advised to join the local gymnastics club, so in 1937 a football department was re-established.

After the end of the Second World War , the gymnastics club was re-established as the Schwieberdingen sports and culture club and renamed the Schwieberdingen gymnastics and sports club in 1947 , in which the two main sports gymnastics and football emerged again.

In the 1960s, the breakdown by sport and thus into departments began. It began with fistball in 1966 , after which other departments such as women's gymnastics , athletics , table tennis , handball , volleyball , swimming and judo were added as the youngest department. The association now comprises a total of ten departments with around 2200 members (as of September 2005).

Good youth work in the 1980s laid the foundation for the Schwieberdinger upward trend to become a fistball stronghold in the Swabian Gymnastics Association. About the district league it went almost in one march through the state league, association league, Swabian league steeply up into the 2nd and 1st Bundesliga .

The greatest successes of the first men's team of TSV Schwieberdingen were winning the indoor championship of the 2nd Bundesliga South (2005 and 2009), as well as the promotion to the 1st Bundesliga, to which they belonged twice, but both times as a newcomer at the end of the season descended again.

In 2009 TSV became champions of the 2nd indoor Bundesliga south and qualified for the promotion games to the fistball Bundesliga. There the TSV fistball players met the second South Representative TV Waldrennach, the West Master TSG Tiefenthal (Palatinate) and the second West TSV Pfungstadt (Hesse). The two champions of the 2nd Bundesliga West and South prevailed, so that TSV Schwieberdingen was promoted to the Bundesliga for the third time after 2003 and 2005. After only one year in the first division, the team was relegated.

In 2010 the women of TSV Schwieberdingen were runner-up in Württemberg. This qualified them for the promotion games to the 2nd Bundesliga South in Leipzig. After four wins, the team made it to the second women's fistball division south. In the first game of the promotion round, the two representatives met the Württemberg champions TSV Gärtringen and lost, as in the points round, with 1: 3. The next games against the hosts Groitzsch and TV Neugablonz from Bavaria decided with 3-0 sets for themselves. With two more wins against TV Glauchau-Rothenbach / Sachsen (3: 1) and against the second Bayern representative TuS Frammersbach (3: 0), TSV Schwieberdingen made their promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga South perfect. The TSV managed to march through from the district league to the regional league and association league in the 2nd Bundesliga South.

Football department

history

From the foundation to the promotion to the 2nd amateur league

The soccer department of TSV Schwieberdingen was founded in 1929.

A short time after the Second World War, a football department was formed again in the newly founded club. The team was assigned to the lowest division and initially completed the first seasons in mid-table. In the 1950/51 season he won the first championship. In 1954, Alfred Ruf , who came from FV Zuffenhausen , took over the team as player-coach. Under him, TSV Schwieberdingen was the superior champions of the C-class with 39: 1 points and 128: 21 goals.

In 1963/64, the company was promoted to the A-Class for the first time, from which it had to be relegated two years later. After rising again in 1967, the club established itself in the A-class. In the junior division, too, the first major national success was achieved by winning the Württemberg Cup in the 1968/69 season. As champions in the A-class of the Enz / Murr football district in the 1974/75 season, TSV Schwieberdingen rose to the 2nd Wuerttemberg amateur league , which was the fourth-highest German football class at the time.

The successful 1970s

The 1970s were quite successful for the footballers of TSV Schwieberdingen. After the promotion to the 2nd amateur league in 1975 you could hold yourself for several years in the fourth highest class, which was led as the state league Württemberg from the 1978/79 season . After the disappointing 15th place in the 1979/80 season, in which a single point was missing to achieve a non-relegation place, relegation to the district league Enz / Murr followed.

Lean times until the mid-1990s

In the "lean" 1980s until the mid-1990s, TSV Schwieberdingen played in the insignificant district league A and in the district league. A new upswing was heralded in the 1994/95 season, when TSV was promoted to the district league Enz / Murr, and was able to celebrate the championship and the associated promotion to the Württemberg regional league in the first 1995/96 season.

From the regional league to the major league

The first years in the regional league were mainly characterized by the fight against relegation. From the beginning of the new millennium, however, TSV Schwieberdingen established itself under the direction of the former professional footballer Gianni Coveli as a permanent fixture in the Württemberg state league and regularly fought for the state league championship and the associated promotion to the Württemberg association league . A highlight during this time was the WFV Cup round of the 2001/02 season, in which TSV Schwieberdingen succeeded in eliminating the second division relegated Stuttgarter Kickers and advancing to the second round. There they were eliminated against the former Bundesliga club SSV Ulm 1846 with 2: 3 - although the decisive goal for Ulm only fell in stoppage time of extra time - unlucky.

In the 2003/04 season, the Schwieberdingen footballers won the championship of the Württemberg regional league and were promoted to the Württemberg league with a 2-1 win on the last matchday of the 2003/04 season against their rivals SG Schorndorf . There you could assert yourself as a newcomer after initial difficulties and took 4th place.

In 2006 the team even reached the semi-finals of the WFV Cup, where they failed again at SSV Ulm 1846 - this time with a clear 0: 6.

In the association league, the TSV was leader of the table for much of the 2005/06 season, but in the end only took third place due to a weak second half of the season and thus missed promotion to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . 2007 Schwieberdingen reached second place in the table and thus qualified for the relegation games for promotion to the league against TSG Weinheim . After the first leg was won 3: 2 and the second leg ended 1: 2 afterwards, the penalty shoot-out had to decide. Here the TSV won 5: 4 and rose to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg.

TSV Schwieberdingen started their first league season with an away game against championship favorites SC Freiburg II . At the premiere, with the 0: 1, only a few minutes were missing to the hoped-for point win. In the first home game, FC-Astoria Walldorf was a guest. After TSV were already 2-0 in the lead after half an hour, they gave it away and finally lost 4-2. Five more games followed with only one point won, before the first victory in the 5-2 home win against the second team of the Stuttgarter Kickers . The financial situation of the football department became increasingly tense, so that promised payments to the players could not be made. In this difficult situation, department head Erich Wild resigned from his position at the end of October 2007 after 18 years for personal reasons. By the end of the year, in addition to a goalless draw against former Bundesliga club SV Waldhof Mannheim and a 2-0 away win at FC Nöttingen, only defeats followed, some of which were quite clear.

Due to the poor results of the teams also in the relegation battle, TSV Schwieberdingen went into the winter break with only one point behind a non-relegation place. There was a great change in her. Nine players left the club, which due to the tense financial situation could only supplement the squad with mostly young players. The TSV started well with the newly formed team in the second half of the season. By April they had collected eleven points and were fourteenth in the table already four points ahead of the relegation ranks. After five defeats in a row, the club was back in the middle of a relegation battle.

Shortly before the last match day of the 2007/08 season, the club announced that it would withdraw from football matches at the association level for economic reasons, as those responsible could not put together a budget for the new season. After the dissolution of the league team and the departure of coach Coveli, the previous second team became the new first. Due to the relegation of the previous second team, which was only secured in the relegation game, TSV Schwieberdingen was represented in the Enz / Murr district league in the 2008/09 season .

In the 2012/13 season, TSV Schwieberdingen had a good preliminary round. TSV Schwieberdingen could not compensate for the departures of several service providers during the winter break and ended up on a relegation place. The decisive game against SV Illingen was lost 2-0. This sealed the relegation to the district league A. In the following year the immediate return to the district league succeeded.
