2. Bundesliga fistball
The 2nd division of fistball for men and women is the second highest national league in German fistball . The game operation takes place in a league divided into four regional seasons and is organized by the German Fistball League .

The 2nd Bundesliga fistball is divided into a north, east, west and south season. The clubs of the North and East seasons can be promoted to the 1st Bundesliga North , the clubs from the West and South seasons to the 1st Bundesliga South . Clubs from the federal states of Hamburg, Bremen, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia are part of the 2. Bundesliga North . The associations of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schleswig-Holstein, Brandenburg, Berlin and Saxony-Anhalt are assigned to the east season. Clubs from the federal states of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and the Baden Regional Gymnastics Association play in the 2nd Bundesliga West . The 2nd Bundesliga South includes clubs from Saxony, Thuringia, Bavaria and the Swabian State Gymnastics Association.
The four relays each comprise nine teams (currently only seven or eight (men) or four (women) in the east). They compete against each other in home and return matches. Here, three teams meet to play a double game day, in which the hosts play the first and the final third game.
The first two teams in each season qualify for the promotion round to the first Bundesliga fistball. Of the four teams in each of the two promotion rounds, the first and second will be promoted to the North and South Bundesliga.
The two last-placed teams are relegated to the subordinate leagues of the regional gymnastics associations.
