The TV Jahn Schneverdingen is a sports club from Schneverdingen in Lower Saxony with almost 3,500 members in 20 departments. The club has achieved particular success in girls 'and ladies' fistball . The women's team has played in the fistball league for over 30 years and is one of the most successful in women's fistball with numerous German championship titles and European cup victories. With two victories in the World Cup , TV Jahn is also the record winner in this competition.
history
The association was founded in 1902 and is today the largest association in the Heidekreis district with almost 3500 members . From 1970 to 1990 Werner Reese was the club's chairman, who was then replaced by Hans Jürgen Thömen. An office was opened in 1992, and the first full-time sports teacher was hired in 1994.
Sports facilities
There are two large sports halls, three sports halls, a gymnastics hall as well as four grass sports fields, five fistball courts, an athletics facility and a fitness studio.

Fistball
The women's team has been on the field since 1980 and in the hall since 1987 without interruption in the Fistball Bundesliga . A total of 16 German championships have been achieved so far. There are also 16 vice championships and eight 3rd places. In the European Cup, the Schneverdingen were successful four times in the final. Seven more times they had to be satisfied with the runner-up title. The highlights were the two World Cup victories in Hanover and Windhoek and second place in Curitiba . With two victories, TV Jahn, together with Telekom-Post SG Cologne and Ahlhorner SV, is the record winner in this competition, which has been taking place since 1997.
The girls' teams have so far won 39 championship titles. There are also 16 silver and 24 bronze medals. The youth teams were also often successful at state and district levels.

In 2009, the football team of TV Jahn Schneverdingen was promoted to the sixth-class district league Lüneburg , which was renamed the Landesliga Lüneburg in 2010 . After relegation to the seventh-class district league in 2011, he was immediately promoted again, followed by relegation from the Lüneburg regional league in 2013. After the renewed promotion in 2015, the direct relegation to the district league followed after only one season. In 2018, TV Jahn won the district cup and thus qualified to participate in the Lower Saxony Cup 2018/19 .
Handball

The Internationale Heide-Cup , a handball tournament with top German and international clubs, has been taking place in Schneverdingen since 2007 . The profit goes entirely to the youth division of the handball department of TV Jahn.
hockey
The 1st men will play in the 2nd league in the 2015/2016 indoor season and will play in the 1st league again in the 2016/2017 indoor season. The 2nd men play meanwhile in the 4th association league. The male youth B of TV Jahns play in the youth cup. In the preliminary round they took 1st place and are currently playing in the final round.
volleyball
The volleyball department has existed since 1972. The men's team plays in the association league, the women on the district level.
Health sport
The health sports department offers courses in the areas of aqua fitness, energy fitness, back training , functional gymnastics, coronary sports , power fitness, rehabilitation sports for children, water aerobics , ski and senior gymnastics . But also cancer aftercare, yoga , progressive muscle relaxation, Pilates and pelvic floor exercises are on the program.
