Community structure

The municipality has seven officially named municipality parts (the type of settlement is given in brackets ):

There are also the Bach and Veitsmühle , both of which are no longer officially named parts of the community after 1885.

history

The place was first mentioned in a document around 1350 as "Prunn", a little later as "Vites prunne" to better distinguish between places of the same name ( Brunn (Emskirchen) , Brunn (Nuremberg) ). The defining word of the place name is Saint Vitus , who was also the patron of the village church. The basic word is the Middle High German word "brunne" (= well, source), which probably meant a left tributary of the Zenn .

At the end of the 18th century there were 25 properties in Veitsbronn (5 courtyards, 14 estates, 4 houses, 2 mills). The high court and the village and community rulership was exercised by the Brandenburg-Ansbach municipal bailiff's office in Langenzenn . All properties had the Cadolzburg caste office in Brandenburg-Ansbach as the landlord .

In 1792 the margraviate of Ansbach - and with it Veitsbronn - fell to Prussia and then in 1806 to the Kingdom of Bavaria .

In 1808, the Veitsbronn tax district was formed as part of the municipal edict. The first section included the places Bachmühle , Bernbach , Kreppendorf , Siegelsdorf and Veitsmühle , the second section included the places Retzelfembach and Tuchenbach . In the same year the rural community Veitsbronn was founded, which was congruent with the I. Section of the tax district. The municipality was under the administration and jurisdiction of the Cadolzburg Regional Court and the Cadolzburg Rent Office for the financial administration . From 1862 Veitsbronn was administered by the Fürth district office (renamed the Fürth district in 1938 ). In 1872 jurisdiction was transferred to the Fürth District Court , and since 1880 it has been with the Fürth District Court . The financial administration was taken over by the Rentamt Fürth (renamed Finanzamt Fürth in 1920 ) in 1870 . In 1961 the municipality had an area of 10.190 km².

Incorporations

The district of Kagenhof of the then western neighboring municipality of Horbach was incorporated into Veitsbronn in April 1953. When the municipality of Horbach was dissolved on May 1, 1978, its Raindorf district came to Veitsbronn (the rest to Langenzenn). On January 1, 1980, the district of Retzelfembach was incorporated into the northern neighboring municipality of Tuchenbach with around 350 inhabitants.

Blazon : “In silver, the figure of St. Vitus, turned tothe left, dressed in red, with a golden book and a black cock; the figure is highlighted with a blue wavy bar . "

Red-white-blue municipal flag

Crest Reason: The coat of arms is speaking for the place name. The wavy bar symbolizes the place name component bronn , which means spring water or well. The figure of St. Vitus also speaks for the place name and at the same time indicates the church patronage. According to legend, the saint healed eye ailments at a spring that still has water today.
