Bernbach (colloquially: "Bärnba") is a district of the municipality of Veitsbronn in the Fürth district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village forms a closed settlement with the Siegelsdorf to the west . It is located on the south bank of the Zenn and on a nameless stream that flows into the Zenn immediately east of the village as a right tributary. In the south lies the Geisleite corridor area and the Bernbacher Holz. Approx. The Zennholz is 0.5 km further east. The district road FÜ 7 / FÜs 2 leads to Siegelsdorf (0.9 km to the west) or to Burgfarrnbach (3.2 km to the south-east). A community road leads to Kreppendorf (0.7 km northeast).

history

In 1157 the place was first mentioned as "Berenbach" in a document in which the Heilsbronn monastery acquired the big tithe in the place from the parish of Markt Erlbach. The place name is derived from an identical water body name, the defining word of which is the Old High German word "bëro" (= bear). A derivation from the personal name Bero is also possible.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 4 properties in Bernbach (3 courtyards, 1 inn). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach city bailiff Langenzenn . The rulership of the village and community was held by the Nuremberg owner from the landlord , which was contested by the Langenzenn municipal bailiff. All properties had the Nuremberg owner von Zeltner as the landlord .

As part of the community edict, Bernbach was assigned to the Veitsbronn tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Veitsbronn formed in the same year . From 1822 to 1835, four properties in voluntary jurisdiction were subordinate to the Boxdorf Patrimonial Court .
