Burgfarrnbach (colloquially: "Faʳnbach") is the westernmost part of the city of Fürth .
geography
Burgfarrnbach is bounded in the east by the Main-Danube Canal , even if the eastern border was still at the level of the Moosweg when it was incorporated in 1923. The southern border forms the southwest bypass , to the west and northwest the border to the district of Fürth . In the northeast which is also the former is statistical District 09 belonging Atzenhof . The common border to the north is the Zenn . To the south of Burgfarrnbach is the Fürth city forest with its quarries that are well worth seeing .
The district road FÜs 2 / FÜ 7 runs to Siegelsdorf (4 km northwest) or to a junction of the federal highway 8 (1 km southeast). A community road runs past the Taubenhof to Seukendorf to FÜ 8 (3.4 km west). Another communal connecting road runs about 1 km northeast before it forks and leads to Ritzmannshof (1 km north) or to Atzenhof (1.2 km northeast). Another communal road runs east to Unterfarrnbach (1.3 km east).
history
The place was probably originally a royal court . In 903 the place was mentioned in a deed of donation from King Ludwig IV to Bishop Erchanbald von Eichstätt as "Varenbach". To better distinguish between Dürrnfarrnbach , Unterfarrnbach or Kirchfarrnbach , the place was initially called “Obern Farhembach” (1303), and a little later “Burchuarnbach” (1343). The place name is derived from the name of the water body, the defining word of which is either fern or bullock and refers to a corresponding characteristic of the stream.
Towards the end of the 18th century there were around 113 properties in Burgfarrnbach. The high court exercised the rule of Burgfarrnbach. The village and community rulership was held jointly by the Bamberg cathedral provost office in Fürth and the rule of Burgfarrnbach. The landlords were the lordship of Burgfarrnbach (castle with brewery and outbuildings, Fronveste, dairy, 2 courtyards, 6 half courtyards, 4 quarter courtyards, 2 estates, 2 estates, 45 houses, 16 little houses, 1 tavern, 1 mill, 1 bath house, 1 shepherd's house), the Dompropsteiamt Fürth (1 courtyard, 8 half courtyards, 1 quarter courtyard, 7 Gütlein, 5 houses), the imperial city of Nuremberg : Spitalamt (2 quarter courtyards), Landesalmosenamt (church, rectory, school house) and the Nuremberg owner von Pömer (1 house).
As part of the municipal edict, the tax district and the rural community Burgfarrnbach were formed in 1808 . In administration and jurisdiction, it was subordinate to the Regional Court of Nuremberg and in the financial administration to the Fürth Rent Office ( renamed the Fürth Tax Office in 1920 ). In voluntary jurisdiction, 99 properties were subordinate to the Burgfarrnbach patrimonial court . From 1862 Burgfarrnbach was administered by the Fürth district office. In 1862 jurisdiction was transferred to the Fürth District Court , and since 1880 it has been with the Fürth District Court . The municipality had an area of 8.837 km².
On December 3, 1923, Burgfarrnbach was incorporated into Fürth.
