history

The place was first mentioned in the Berg'schen Reichslehenbuch from 1396 as "Ronhof". In 1606 the place was first mentioned as "Fronhoff". This shape is the result of the blending of "on Ronhof". The defining word of the place name is the Old High German word "rono" (= fallen tree) and refers to the fact that the settlement area was won through clearing.

At the end of the 18th century there were 17 properties in Ronhof. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Oberamt Baiersdorf , which was contested by the imperial city of Nuremberg . The landlords were the Bamberg cathedral provost office in Fürth (4 half yards, 1 estate) and the Nuremberg owners of Imhoff (2 estates, 1 Seldengut), vonöffelholz (3 half yards, 2 Seldengütlein, 1 tavern) and von Oelhafen (2 half yards, 1 estate). The village and community rule was alternately taken over by the landlords.

As part of the community edict, the tax district and the rural community of Buch were formed in 1813 , to which Ronhof also belonged. With the second community edict (1818) the rural community Ronhof was formed, to which Kronach belonged. It was subordinate to the Erlangen Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and to the Erlangen Rent Office for financial administration . In voluntary jurisdiction, 2 properties were subordinate to the Patrimonial Court (PG) Buchschwabach from 1821 to 1848 , 1 property from 1822 to 1840 to the PG Buch and 8 properties from 1825 to 1835 to the PG Gibitzenhof . From 1862 Ronhof was administered by the Fürth district office. In 1862 jurisdiction was transferred to the Fürth District Court , and since 1880 it has been with the Fürth District Court . The financial management was taken over in 1871 by the Rentamt Fürth (renamed Finanzamt Fürth in 1920 ). The municipality had an area of 2.741 km².

The Bavarian original cadastre shows Rohnhof in the 1810s as a street village with 21 hearths.

Around 1850 the Ludwigs-Nord-Süd-Bahn reached the place without stopping there.

Ronhof gained some fame with the sports stadium of the former SpVgg Fürth in 1903, which after its construction in the 1910s was long considered the largest sports facility in the German Reich .

The Ronhof community was incorporated into Fürth on July 1, 1927 .

With the superstructure of the Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal from 1950 by the federal motorway 73 (Frankenschnellweg), the district got its own motorway connection in 1972.

Since the building boom that began in the 1950s, the settlement area has increased from three hectares to around 1.5 km². The formerly agricultural, village-like structure changed in the 1970s to commercial settlements (e.g. Franken Wohnland , 1979) and large-scale residential development.
