history
The place was probably founded in the second wave of the Franconian land conquest (730 to 800). In 1169 the place was first mentioned in a document as "Varbach". The place name is derived from the name of the water body, the defining word of which is either fern or bullock and refers to a corresponding characteristic of the stream. The place had its own church since the 13th century at the latest. The church patronage was originally exercised by the Bishop of Würzburg. On March 10, 1278, this, like that of the neighboring churches, was transferred to Heilsbronn Monastery . In 1402 the place was first mentioned as "Kirchenvarnbach". With the adoption of the Reformation in 1528 by Pastor Friedrich Kerer during his visit to Ansbach, Kirchfarrnbach is one of the oldest Protestant communities in Franconia. However, the former Franciscan Erhard Fuchs, who was Kerer's successor from 1533 to 1599, is considered the first Protestant pastor of the community .
Towards the end of the 18th century, Kirchfarrnbach and Oberndorf formed a community. There were 16 properties in Kirchfarrnbach. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach city bailiff Langenzenn . The Brandenburg-Bayreuth municipal bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach exercised a limited extent over the Bayreuth subjects . The village and community rulership was held by the Neuhof caste office in Brandenburg-Bayreuth . The landlords were the Kastenamt Neuhof (1 shepherd's house), the Kastenamt Cadolzburg (1 half-yard, 3 estates, 2 houses), the parish Kirchfarrnbach (3 estates, 1 mill, 1 house), the Deutschordenskommende Nürnberg (1 courtyard, 1 estate), the Nuremberg owner of Gugel (1 estate). 1 Good was free .
As part of the community edict, Kirchfarrnbach was assigned to the tax district of Unterschlauersbach in 1808 . In the same year the rural community of Kirchfarrnbach was founded, to which Dürrnfarrnbach belonged. The municipality was under the administration and jurisdiction of the Cadolzburg Regional Court and the Cadolzburg Rent Office for the financial administration . From 1862 Kirchfarrnbach was administered by the Fürth district office (renamed the Fürth district in 1938 ). Jurisdiction remained with the Cadolzburg District Court until 1879, and since 1880 with the Cadolzburg District Court . The financial management was taken over by the Rentamt Fürth (renamed Finanzamt Fürth in 1920 ) in 1880 . The municipality had an area of 7.454 km².
With the regional reform in Bavaria , Kirchfarrnbach was incorporated into Wilhermsdorf on January 1, 1978.
