Kernmühle (colloquially: "Keʳnmīl") is a district of the Roßtal market in the central Franconian district of Fürth .
geography
The hamlet is on the Bibert . The Erlach and Kernschlag forest areas are southwest of the village. A communal road leads to Neuses (1.1 km southwest) or Weinzierlein to state road 2409 (1.7 km northeast). Another community road leads to Stöckach (1.4 km south).
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1413 as "Kernmule". In the Salbuch of the Cadolzburg Office of 1414 the place was mentioned as "Gyszubelmule", in the Salbuch of 1464 as "Gißv e belsmul die yczunt haiasst die Kernmu e l". The defining word Gißubil is derived from the Old High German word "gussia" (= water surge). It cannot be clarified whether the determinant Kern- is derived from the Middle High German word “kërn” (= grain) or from the family name Kern. A Kern family as mill owners can only be proven from 1532. They owned the property until 1676.
Towards the end of the 18th century there was an estate in Kernmühle. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach judge's office in Roßtal . The Cadolzburg caste office was the landlord of the mill .
As part of the community edict, Kernmühle was assigned to the Weinzierlein tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Weinzierlein , which was founded in the same year .
As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Kernmühle was incorporated into Roßtal on May 1, 1978.
The mill
In 1906 the mill was bought by Leonhard Horneber and operated as a mill. In 1916 the mill building burned down to the ground. The building was rebuilt during the First World War. In 1966 agriculture became his main occupation and Heinz Horneber ended the milling business. From the mid-1980s, the farm was run according to the guidelines of Bioland and the offer was supplemented by an educational offer for schoolchildren from 2000. A former stable was converted into a seminar house in 2004 and opened in 2005. In 2008, the owner Jutta Horneber won the Farmer's Award as Entrepreneur of the Year 2008.
In 2011 the agriculture was leased to an organic colleague. The former agricultural barn was completely renovated and rebuilt in 2013 and opened in September 2014 as an event location and seminar house.
