history

In a letter from Pope Innocent IV from 1249, the Heilsbronn Monastery is confirmed to be in "Wizmansdorf". This is also the first documentary mention. The defining word of the place name is the personal name Wizman.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 17 properties in Großweismannsdorf. The high court and the village and community rulership exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach judge office Roßtal . The landlords were the Cadolzburg Kastenamt (three courtyards, five estates, blacksmiths, tavern, shepherd's house), the imperial city of Nuremberg : Schlüsselfelder Foundation (one estate), Spitalamt (one farm) and Nuremberg owners : von Grundherr (one estate , inn), von Scheurl (a farm), von Volckamer (an estate). In 1800 there were 15 properties in the village, ten of which were Ansbach and five were foreign.

In 1808, the Großweismannsdorf tax district was formed as part of the municipal edict. The places Defersdorf and Kleinweismannsdorf belonged to the I. Section, the places Gutzberg , Loch , Oberbüchlein , Sichersdorf and Unterbüchlein belonged to the II. Section . In the same year the rural community Großweismannsdorf was founded, which was congruent with the I. section of the tax district. The community was under administration and jurisdiction of the district court Cadolzburg and in the financial administration of the bursary Cadolzburg (in 1920 the tax office Cadolzburg renamed). 1 property was subject to the Volckamer Patrimonial Court until 1812 , 2 properties were subject to the Boxdorf Patrimonial Court from 1823 to 1835 . From 1862 Großweismannsdorf was administered by the Fürth district office (renamed the Fürth district in 1938 ). Jurisdiction remained with the Cadolzburg District Court until 1879, from 1880 to March 1, 1931 it was with the Cadolzburg District Court , since then it has been exercised by the Fürth District Court . The financial management was taken over on January 1, 1929 by the Fürth tax office . The municipality had an area of 7.360 km².

As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Großweismannsdorf was incorporated into Roßtal on May 1, 1978.
