The Mühlbach ( called Schwallbach in the lower reaches ), a left tributary of the Schwabach , has its source immediately south of the village . Approx. 0.5 km to the west of the village are the forest areas Der Alte Schlag and Mondschein, in the north the stump fields border, in the south the Pfaffenberg rises. history
The place was first mentioned in a document around 1430 as "Trettendorff". The defining word of the place name is probably the Middle High German word "entered" (= fallow land, cattle pasture).
Towards the end of the 18th century there were six properties in Trettendorf. The high court and the village and community rulership exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach judge office Roßtal . The landlords were the Roßtal church (one yard), the imperial city of Nuremberg : Landesalmosenamt (two half yards), Landesalmosenamt and St. Klara office (one half yard) and the Nuremberg owner von Pömer (one half yard, one little estate). In 1802 there were four properties, one of which was Ansbach and three were Nuremberg.
As part of the municipal edict, Trettendorf was assigned to the Buchschwabach tax district formed in 1808 . It belonged to the rural community of Weitersdorf , which was founded in the same year .
As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Trettendorf was incorporated into Roßtal on May 1, 1978.
