history
The place was first mentioned in the Würzburg fief book of 1303 as "Sto e ckech" when Heinrich von Buttendorf u. a. there received tithing as a fief. The place name is based on the Middle High German word “stock” with the collective suffix “-ach” attached and refers to a previous slash and burn , which left a field of tree stumps.
Towards the end of the 18th century there were 13 properties in Stöckach (four courtyards, six half courtyards , two houses, community pastoral house). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach judge's office in Roßtal . The Cadolzburg caste office held the village and community rulership as well as the lordship over all properties .
As part of the community edict, Stöckach was assigned to the Weinzierlein tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Weinzierlein , which was founded in the same year .
As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Stöckach was incorporated into Roßtal on May 1, 1978.
