history

The place was first mentioned in 1348 in tax files of the Bamberg diocese as "Puschendorf". The defining word of the place name is probably the family name Busch, possibly also the Old High German word "busc / pusc" (= forest).

The old trade route Nuremberg – Frankfurt, which led from Burgfarrnbach – Veitsbronn – Emskirchen via Puschendorf, had a considerable influence on the development of the place. The Gasthof zum Roten Ochsen was once a horse changing stable and an inn for carters.
Instead of the local church of St. Wolfgang, there is the Burgstall Puschendorf .

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 18 properties in Puschendorf (16 estates, rectory, school house). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Fraischvogteiamt Emskirchen-Hagenbüchach . The state alms office of the imperial city of Nuremberg held the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties .

As part of the municipal edict, Puschendorf was assigned to the tax district of Hagenbüchach in 1811 . In 1813 the rural community of Puschendorf was formed, to which the villages of Höfen and Zweifelsheim belonged. With the second community edict (1818), two rural communities were formed:

  • Rural community of Puschendorf;
  • Zweifelsheim rural community with courtyards.

On April 1, 1836, Puschendorf was assigned to the Herzogenaurach Regional Court , and finally to the Herzogenaurach Rent Office on October 1, 1847 ( renamed the Herzogenaurach Tax Office in 1920 ). From 1862 Puschendorf was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch . The jurisdiction remained until 1879 the District Court Herzogenaurach, 1880-1931 at the District Court Herzogenaurach . On October 1, 1931, Puschendorf was assigned to the Fürth district office (renamed the Fürth district in 1938 ) and the Fürth district court.

Green and yellow municipal flag

Foundation of the coat of arms: The half eagle indicates the former connection between the place and the imperial city of Nuremberg . The crenellated shield base points to the late Gothic church, which stands on the castle stables that are fortified by a wall and moat. The oak branch symbolizes a natural monument in the municipality, an oak several centuries old.
