Höfen is a district of the city of Herzogenaurach in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia .

geography

Through the village of Randwiesengraben, which is a left tributary of the Krebsbach (called Schleifmühlbach in the lower reaches), which flows into the Middle Aurach as a right tributary in Herzogenaurach . The Steinbach Forest borders in the east. Otherwise, the place is surrounded by arable land and grassland with a few trees. In the northwest lies the Tonäcker corridor.

The district road ERH 13 / FÜ 8 runs to Falkendorf to state road 2244 (3.3 km north) or to Tuchenbach (2.7 km south-east). A community road leads to Zweifelsheim (1 km southwest).

history

In 1348 the place was first mentioned in the Bamberg Urbar . At that time part of the tithe was pledged to the Nuremberg patrician Konrad Gross , the founder of the Nuremberg Heilig-Geist-Spital .

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 12 properties in Höfen. The high court except Etters exercised the Brandenburg-bayreuthische Fraischvogteiamt Emskirchen-Hagenbüchach from within Etters the Brandenburg-ansbachische Stadtvogtei Office Langenzenn . The landlords were the Cadolzburg caste office in Brandenburg-Ansbach (6 houses), the state alms office of the imperial city of Nuremberg (1 quarter courtyard) and Nuremberg patricians: von Geuder (2 half yards), von Silberrath (1 yard), von Tucher (2 half yards). The village and township government was ganerblich exercised by the landlords in turns.

As part of the municipal edict, Höfen was assigned to the Hagenbüchach tax district, formed in 1811 . It belonged to the rural community of Puschendorf, founded in 1813 . With the second community edict (1818), the place was re-incorporated into the newly formed rural community of Zweifelsheim .

On July 1, 1972, Zweifelsheim was incorporated into the municipality of Herzogenaurach as part of the regional reform .

The place was parish from 1447 to St. Veit (Veitsbronn) . The place has been mostly Protestant since the Reformation. Since 1807 the residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination have been parish in St. Wolfgang (Puschendorf) . The inhabitants of the Roman Catholic denomination are parish to St. Magdalena (Herzogenaurach) .
