history

The place was founded in the royal estate district of Herzogenaurach and was first mentioned in 1152. In 1348 the place was considered the property of the Bamberg Monastery . Fiefs at this time were Nuremberg patricians (including Groß , Pirckheimer), Bamberg nobility and the city of Herzogenaurach. In the same year, half of the great tithe was pledged by the Hochstift to Konrad Groß , the founder of the Nuremberg Heilig-Geist-Spital . In the following years this went to the Heilig-Geist-Spital. In 1445 Hans Pirckheimer sold two estates and seven Selden to Peter Rieter . Eventually this property came to Cuntz Reyter, who donated it to the Herzogenaurach hospital in 1511. In the following years there were also margrave fiefs.

At the end of the 18th century there were 32 properties in Falkendorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Fraischvogteiamt Emskirchen-Hagenbüchach . The landlords were Brandenburg-Bayreuth ( Münchaurach monastery office : 3 courtyards, 1 Hube, 8 farms, Baiersdorf district : 3 half farms) and the Bamberg monastery ( Herzogenaurach office : 1 farm, city of Herzogenaurach: 4 farms, 12 farms). The authority of Herzogenaurach held the village and community rulership over the Bamberg subjects and the monastery authority Münchaurach over the Bavarian subjects. All congregation members had the hat and grazing rights on the mark. Since 1691 there was also a common village regulation.

In 1810 Falkendorf came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the place was assigned to the Münchaurach tax district formed in 1811 . In 1813 the rural community of Falkendorf was formed, to which the places Dondörflein , Dörflas , Eckenmühle , Hessenmühle , Lenkershof , Lenzenmühle and Nankenhof belonged. With the second community edict (1818), the villages Dörflas, Lenkershof and Nankenhof were reunified to Münchaurach, so that only the villages Dondörflein, Eckenmühle, Hessenmühle and Lenzenmühle belonged to Falkendorf.

The administration and jurisdiction of the municipality of Falkendorf was subordinate to the Markt Erlbach district court and the tax office to the Neustadt an der Aisch rent office . On April 1, 1836, the community was assigned to the Herzogenaurach Regional Court , and finally to the Herzogenaurach Rent Office on October 1, 1847 . From 1862 Falkendorf was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued to be administered by the Rent Office Herzogenaurach (1920–1929: Finanzamt Herzogenaurach , from 1929: Finanzamt Erlangen ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Herzogenaurach until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Herzogenaurach , from 1959 district court of Erlangen . The municipality had an area of 6.551 km².

On January 1, 1972, Falkendorf was incorporated into the newly formed municipality of Aurachtal as part of the regional reform . On May 1, 1978 Dondöflein and Eckenmühle were umgemeindet to Herzogenaurach .
