history

Between 1124 and 1127 the Münchaurach Benedictine monastery was founded by Count Gozwin von Höchstadt and his son Hermann von Stahleck. In 1128 this was consecrated by Bishop Otto von Bamberg . In 1450 the monastery was looted during the First Margrave War and had to be rebuilt in the following decades at great expense. Part of the monastery was cremated during the Peasants' War in 1525. With the introduction of the Lutheran church regiment, the monastery was secularized in 1528 and made an office of the state governor of Neustadt an der Aisch . From 1846 to 1972 Münchaurach was the seat of an Evangelical Lutheran deanery.

At the end of the 18th century there were 32 properties in Münchaurach. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Fraischvogteiamt Emskirchen-Hagenbüchach . The Brandenburg-Bayreuth Monastery Office Münchaurach held the village and community rulership . All properties (office building, parsonage, schoolhouse, 2 taverns, 1 mill, 1 courtyard, 2 half courtyards, 3 estates, 12 houses, 3 drip houses , 2 courtyard houses, brickworks, baths, blacksmiths) had the Münchaurach monastery as the landlord .

In 1810 Münchaurach came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the Münchaurach tax district was formed in 1811 , to which Dörflas , Dondörflein , Eckenmühle , Falkendorf , Grieshof , Hessenmühle , Lenkershof , Lenzenmühle , Mausdorf , Nankenhof , Neundorf and Oberniederndorf belonged. In 1813 the following rural communities were formed:

  • Rural community Falkendorf with Dörflas, Dondörflein, Eckenmühle, Hessenmühle, Lenkershof, Lenzenmühle and Nankenhof
  • Rural community of Mausdorf with Grieshof, Leitsmühle and Neundorf
  • Rural community Münchaurach

With the second community edict (1818), the villages Dörflas, Lenkershof and Nankenhof were added to Münchaurach.

The municipality of Münchaurach was under the administration and jurisdiction of the Markt Erlbach regional court and the tax office of Neustadt an der Aisch . On April 1, 1836, the community was assigned to the Herzogenaurach Regional Court , and finally to the Herzogenaurach Rent Office on October 1, 1847 . From 1862 Münchaurach was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued to be administered by the Herzogenaurach Rent Office (1920–1929: Herzogenaurach tax office , from 1929: Erlangen tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Herzogenaurach until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Herzogenaurach , from 1959 district court of Erlangen . The municipality had an area of 5.773 km².

On January 1, 1972, Münchaurach was incorporated into the newly formed Aurachtal community as part of the regional reform .
