geography

The former wasteland is located on the Schleifmühlbach , which flows 500 meters further east as a right tributary into the Middle Aurach . The place forms a closed settlement with the Herzogenaurach industrial park in the west and has meanwhile opened up as house no. 39 on Galgenhofer Straße. A golf course is adjacent to the southwest. The place is located on Galgenhofer Straße, which joins Hans-Meier-Straße (= St 2263 ) four hundred meters further north-west or one kilometer south-east to Hauptendorf .

history

The place was originally a fiefdom of the bishopric of Bamberg and subsequently came to the patricians of Nuremberg .

Towards the end of the 18th century, Galgenhof consisted of an estate. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach city bailiff Langenzenn . The Nuremberg owner von Tucher was the landlord of the Höflein.

As part of the municipal edict, Galgenhof was assigned to the Obermichelbach tax district formed in 1808 . It belonged to the rural community of Burgstall, founded in the same year . A property was subject to the voluntary jurisdiction of the patrimonial stone (until 1812, 1823-1848).

On January 1, 1972, Galgenhof was incorporated into the city of Herzogenaurach as part of the regional reform .
