history

In 1158 the place was mentioned for the first time as "Hagenpuchech". The place name is derived from a field name. This contains mhd. “Hagenbuoche” (= hornbeam ) with the collective suffix “–ach” attached. The settlement is named after a hornbeam forest.

During the time of the tribal duchies , Hagenbüchach belonged to the Duchy of Franconia . In 1414 the place became the place of the castle counts (the last public execution in Hagenbüchach took place on April 18, 1760).

At the time of the Reformation , the parish of Hagenbüchach belonged to Emskirchen and, in this regard, participated in its development in 1529. During the Thirty Years' War , Hagenbüchach, like other places in the region, was attacked by a plundering band of robbers in November 1631.

At the end of the 18th century there were 14 properties in Hagenbüchach. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Fraischvogteiamt Emskirchen-Hagenbüchach . The village and township government had the Vogt office Hagenbüchach held. All properties were owned by the Principality of Bayreuth as the landlord (Vogtamt Hagenbüchach: rectory, schoolhouse, 2 parish houses, 2 taverns, 1 Hube , 2 half courtyards, 1 estate, 2 houses; administration Birnbaum : 1 little house, 1 little estate ).

As part of the municipal edict , the Hagenbüchach tax district was formed in 1811 , to which Brandhof , Bräuersdorf , Erlachskirchen (in part), Erlachsmühle , Hagenmühle , Hammermühle , Höfen , Kirchfembach , Oberfembach Pirkach , Puschendorf , Trübenbronn and Zweifelsheim belonged. In 1813 the rural community of Hagenbüchach was formed, to which Brandhof, Bräuersdorf, Erlachskirchen (in part), Erlachsmühle, Oberfembach and Trübenbronn belonged. It was subordinate to the regional court of Markt Erlbach in administration and jurisdiction and to the tax office in Neustadt an der Aisch . With the second community edict (1818), the rural community was split into

  • Rural community of Bräuersdorf with Brandhof, Erlachskirchen (partly), Erlachsmühle and Trübenbronn;
  • Rural community Hagenbüchach;
  • Oberfembach to the rural community of Kirchfembach.

On November 8, 1824, Oberfembach was reassigned to Hagenbüchach. From 1862 Hagenbüchach was administered by the Neustadt an der Aisch district office (renamed the Neustadt an der Aisch district in 1938 ) and from 1856 by the Markt Erlbach rent office (1920–1929: Markt Erlbach tax office , from 1929: Neustadt an der Aisch tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Markt Erlbach until 1879, from 1880 to 1959 district court of Markt Erlbach , from 1959 district court of Fürth . The community originally had an area of 6.877 km².

Administrative community

Until December 31, 2006 the community with the communities Emskirchen and Wilhelmsdorf belonged to the administrative community Emskirchen - one of the first administrative communities after the Bavarian territorial reform in 1972. The Bavarian state parliament approved the withdrawal of the market community Emskirchen from the administrative community at the turn of the year 2006/07 on November 28th 2006 (printed matter 15/6960). The seat of the new administrative association Hagenbüchach-Wilhelmsdorf is in Wilhelmsdorf .

Incorporations

On January 1, 1972, the previously independent community of Bräuersdorf was incorporated.

Population development

In the period from 1988 to 2018, the population increased from 815 to 1449 by 634 inhabitants or by 77.8% - the highest percentage increase in the district in the period mentioned.

Coat of arms of Hagenbüchach
Blazon : "In Wellenschnitt divided of silver and green, on the dividing line covered with a silver and black gevierten sign over a black pan balance, including two growing out of a silver stem silver twigs with five leaves."

Black, white, and green municipal flag

Justification of the coat of arms: The scale reminds of the earlier importance of the place when Hagenbüchach was still an independent court. The five leaves of the beech branches represent the five districts of the municipality. The Hohenzollern crest finally refers to the former affiliation of the community.

Culture and sights

The St. Kilian's Church

St. Kilian's Church

The church in Hagenbüchach was first mentioned in a document in 1158. In 1499 the nave was built; since then, this year has been considered the year the Kilian's Church was founded. The church in its current form was built after a renovation in 1847. Only the choir arch remains from the original building.

The church has a late Gothic winged altar from 1520. The paintings on the balustrades of the galleries are particularly worth seeing, which experts estimate are around 200 to 300 years old and were rediscovered during a church renovation in 1984.

Jakoberhaus

The Jakoberhaus is a 1925 built, extremely winding house with many bay windows and turrets. Originally the building was planned to be much larger, but due to lack of money, only the porch could be realized. The house was supposed to serve as a recreation area for officers. Later it was used as a refugee camp, radio station for the US Army and a retirement home. Today it is privately owned.
