João Miranda Teixeira (born December 1, 1935 in Felgueiras , Porto District , Portugal ) is auxiliary bishop emeritus in Porto .
Life
João Miranda Teixeira was ordained a priest on August 7, 1960 by the Bishop of Lublin , Piotr Kałwa , and was incardinated in the clergy of the Diocese of Porto .
Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Castellum Iabar and auxiliary bishop in Porto on May 13, 1983 . The Bishop of Porto, Archbishop Júlio Tavares Rebimbas , ordained him episcopal on July 31 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were António Ferreira Gomes , Bishop Emeritus of Porto, and Domingos de Pinho Brandão , Auxiliary Bishop in Porto.
On October 7, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
