Joëlle Wintrebert
Joëlle Wintrebert (born September 29, 1949 in Toulon , Var department ) is a French writer. She is known as the author of science fiction , fantasy and fantasy , but also of crime and historical novels . She won the prestigious Prix Rosny aîné science fiction prize three times and was awarded the Prix Cyrano in 2017 for her life's work .
Life
Wintrebert studied film and literature at the University of Paris VIII , where she graduated with a diploma in 1971 ( License de Cinéma ) and 1972 ( License de Lettres ). In 1975 she was the managing editor of Horizons du Fantastique magazine . From 1975 to 1981 she worked as a journalist for various magazines, including Fiction , L'Inconnu , for the French editions of Creepy and Vampirella , for L'Écho des Savanes , Le Photographe and Lumière . From 1983 to 1997 she wrote an SF section for the comic magazine (à suivre) .
From 1975 onwards, Wintrebert published his first SF stories, initially in Argon magazine . With the story La Créode , she won the Prix Rosny aîné for the first time in 1980. In 1980 her first novel Les Olympiades truquées appeared , which was also awarded the Prix Rosny aîné. The novel describes a world where cloning is commonplace and doping is mandatory for athletes. This is where the paths of the exceptional swimmer Sphyrène and Maël cross, who slowly realizes that she is the clone of her dead mother. Her novel Bébé-miroir (1988) takes up the subject again.
