Yo. Franzke (actually Joachim Franzke , born April 22, 1941 in Berlin ) is a German architect . He lives and works in Frankfurt am Main .

Life

Yo. Franzke studied architecture from 1964 to 1966 at the Technical University of Braunschweig and from 1969 to 1975 at the Technical University of Aachen . After working in various architectural offices, a. a. at Erich Schneider-Wessling and in the Busmann + Haberer office in Cologne, he took over the management of the Frankfurt office of Oswald Mathias Ungers in 1981 .

In 1986 he founded his own office in Frankfurt am Main. In 2003 the office operated as a partnership together with the architect Magnus Kaminiarz (born 1964) under the name Jo. Franzke Architects . From 2011 Franzke was again the sole owner. In December 2016 the office became a wholly owned subsidiary of Sweco GmbH through the sale and is now called Jo. Franzke Generalplaner GmbH . Yo. Franzke continues to work in the office as a senior consultant. The management of Jo. Franzke Generalplaner took over the architect and long-time employee Heike Klotz (* 1965).

The Jo office . Franzke Architekten is internationally active and designs and implements office buildings, residential buildings and airport buildings.

In addition to his work as an architect, Jo. Franzke also editor of several publications on contemporary Frankfurt architecture. He is a member of the Association of German Architects .
