Yo. Harbort
Yo. Harbort (* 1951 in Oschersleben (Bode) ; born Joachim Harbort ) is a German artist. He is an art-obsessed globetrotter with his adopted home in Zwickau , who works primarily as a sculptor with wood, but also with stone or ice.
Life
Harbort came into contact with the art of carving early on . In 1969 he completed an apprenticeship in wood carving. From 1970 to 1975 he studied at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts . Since 1976 he has been working as a freelance artist, particularly in Zwickau and on Hiddensee . His participation in the ice festivals in Canada is already legend. The productive sculptor also left sculptures made of ice in distant Japan.
He is the brother of the actress and director Christine Harbort and the nephew of the world-famous conductor Kurt Masur .

- Bierbrauerbrunnen in the Zwickauer Katharinenstrasse. The city of Zwickau donated a similar bronze sculpture to its twin city, Dortmund .

- Christmas crib with life-size figures, exhibited in the Pantheon Rome from December 5, 2010 to February 2, 2011 , otherwise part of the annual Zwickau Christmas market
