Later in the year he participated in the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2009 in Oberhof part and was there in the Cross Country Competitions, the 40th in the sprint and 38th in pursuit and 61st in Skiroller -Sprint. For the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver Gombos could not qualify, only in 2011 he took part in the World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk and ran there to the ranks 97 in the individual and 109 in the sprint. The Summer Biathlon European Championships 2011 in Martell brought in very good placements 12 in the sprint and 20 in the pursuit for a Hungarian biathlete. At the Biathlon World Championships 2012 in Ruhpolding , Gombos was 111th in the individual and 117th in the sprint.
