Jo Harman

Jo Harman (* in London ) is a British singer-songwriter whose music is primarily based on blues and soul , but also has influences from country , gospel , jazz , rock and pop .

biography

Born in London, Harman grew up in Lustleigh, Devon . As a teenager she played the bassoon . After studying in London, following the death of her father and a trip to India, she attended the Brighton Institute of Modern Music in Brighton .

In 2011 she independently released Jo Harman And Company Live At Hideaway , two years before her first studio album Dirt On My Tongue was released in 2013 . Another live album followed in 2014, Live At The Royal Albert Hall .

Harman has performed at numerous festivals including the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, the Edinburgh Jazz Festival, the BluesFest at Royal Albert Hall , the Isle of Wight Festival and the Parkpop Festival in The Hague . Musicians she has performed with include the Cranberries , Don McLean , Mick Hucknall , Johnny Winter , Robert Plant , Van Morrison , Bobby Womack , the Average White Band and many others.
