Jo Kendall

Jo Kendall (born February 17, 1938 in Lincoln , Lincolnshire , England ) is a British actress .

Life

She studied at Cambridge University . In August 1963 she performed in the West End in London , New Zealand and Broadway , and also in the Cambridge University Revue Cambridge Circus directed by Humphrey Barclay with Graham Chapman , John Cleese , Bill Oddie , Tim Brooke-Taylor , David Hatch and Chris Stuart-Clark .

When she got into radio comedy , she became a regular star on BBC's I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again (starring John Cleese, Tim Brooke-Taylor, Bill Oddie, Graeme Garden, and David Hatch) and a member of the very first Edition of I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue . Kendall has also appeared on other popular radio comedy series such as The Burkiss Way and played Lady Cynthia Fitzmelton in the pilot episode of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy .

When she left comedy for 'serious' drama, she played Annie in the 1992 film adaptation of Howards End directed by James Ivory and as the housemother, Miss Biggs in Scum .

She also played Peggy Skilbeck on the ITV series Emmerdale Farm .
