Joachim Erdmann von Arnim

Joachim Erdmann von Arnim (born April 24, 1741 in Gerswalde ; died January 17, 1804 in Berlin ) was the Royal Prussian Chamberlain and diplomat .

His family came from the Blankensee branch of the Uckermark family .

He was the ambassador of the Prussian king in Copenhagen and Dresden and later director of the Berlin Royal Opera .

With the help of his mother-in-law, Arnim acquired the little country Bärwalde with Wiepersdorf Castle and other manors. The Wiepersdorf, Bärwalde and Herbersdorf estates were leased; the family lived in Berlin. His wife, Amalie Caroline von Arnim, née Labes, died three weeks after the birth of their son, the later poet, Achim von Arnim (1781–1831). Her first son was Karl Otto Ludwig von Arnim (1779–1861).
