Joachim Ernst von Zimmerow

Johann Ernst von Zimmerow (* around 1690 ; † October 22, 1744 in Pardubitz ) was a royal Prussian colonel and chief of Infantry Regiment No. 43 .

He came in 1706 through the mediation of then Chief Leopold of Anhalt-Dessau in the Regiment. 3, . There he became second lieutenant on September 16, 1708 and premier lieutenant in 1715. During the War of the Spanish Succession he fought with the Prussian troops in Italy and took part in the battle of Turin and the sieges of Castiglione , Milan and Fenestrelle .

During the Pomeranian campaign of 1715/1716 he was at the siege of Stralsund and the conquest of Rügen . The following year he was appointed captain of the staff. He rose further and was transferred to Regiment No. 10 (Prince Dietrich) as a lieutenant colonel in 1738 . There he became a colonel in 1741. In the First Silesian War he fought near Mollwitz and Chotusitz .

In 1744 he received the Infantry Regiment No. 43 (Brandeis) in Breslau from King Friedrich II . In the Second Silesian War he successfully defended the Prussian magazines in the city of Pardubitz . against Colonel Franquini. He was expressly praised by the king for this. But he was injured in the head and one arm was shot. He died of the wounds he received on October 22, 1744.
