Joachim Griese

Joachim Griese (born October 17, 1939 in Berlin ) is a German business IT specialist . He was professor for business informatics and director of the institute for business informatics at the University of Bern.

Live and act

He completed his studies in mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich (1960–1965) as a graduate engineer . He also completed postgraduate studies in industrial engineering and economics at the Technical University of Munich from 1965 to 1968, where he earned the title of industrial engineer. He received his doctorate from 1968 to 1970 at the University of Linz (Dr. rer. Soc. Oec.). This was followed by a stay in the USA at MIT . From 1970 to 1974 he was a research assistant at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg , from 1974 to 1983 professor (full professor) for business administration , especially business informatics , at the University of Dortmund and from 1983 to 2002 holder of the chair for business informatics at the University of Bern and director of the university there Institute for Information Systems.

He was married and has two children.

Services

Griese initially dealt with the design and management of information systems ( information management ) and then with electronic commerce ( electronic business ). He worked on practical projects in the areas of business and IT strategies as well as the controlling of IT projects . He was one of the pioneers in his field in German-speaking countries.
