Joachim Herrmann (bank manager)

Joachim Herrmann (* 1956 in Schwäbisch Hall ) is the elected managing director of the Sparkassenverband Baden-Württemberg (SVBW) based in Stuttgart . He succeeds Tilmann Hesselbarth and will take up office on May 1, 2010.

Life

After completing school training, he did an apprenticeship as a banker at the cooperative central bank in Stuttgart. Herrmann then completed his degree in economics at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and was initially a research assistant at the Law Faculty of the University of Tübingen. In July 1987, he received his doctorate from the Faculty of Economics.

After completing his doctorate, he joined Kreissparkasse Esslingen-Nürtingen in autumn 1987 . There he began as head of the board secretariat and was later appointed to the board as a deputy member with his own business area.

From March 1999 Herrmann was CEO of the Hohenzollerische Landesbank Kreissparkasse Sigmaringen and on December 1, 2009 was appointed managing director of the Sparkassenverband Baden-Württemberg. His successor Michael Hahn has been in office in Sigmaringen since May 1, 2010.

Private

Joachim Herrmann, who lives in Sigmaringen on the Josefsberg, is married and has two adult sons. He is also a member of the Rotary Club Sigmaringen, and the Association of Friends of the Abbey of St. Martin eV By 2010 he was treasurer of the Association of Friends of the University of Albstadt-Sigmaringen eV
