history

Today's Kreissparkasse Esslingen-Nürtingen is essentially an amalgamation of three savings banks, all of which had their headquarters in today's Esslingen district. These were the three Oberamtssparkassen Nürtingen (founded in 1848), Esslingen (founded in 1849) and Kirchheim (founded in 1854). In 1938 the Sparkassen Nürtingen and Kirchheim merged to form the Nürtingen district. On January 1, 1974, the Kreissparkasse Esslingen and Nürtingen merged due to the merger of the two districts to form the Kreissparkasse Esslingen-Nürtingen .
