Joachim Klinger

Joachim Klinger (born April 18, 1932 in Dortmund ) is a German draftsman and author.

Klinger studied law in Münster and Tübingen, received his doctorate in Tübingen and worked for 30 years - most recently as a senior ministerial advisor - in the Ministry of Culture of North Rhine-Westphalia . As a film advisor for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in the Ministry of Culture - under Minister Hans Schwier - he played a key role in creating today's Film Museum in Düsseldorf from what was then the Film Institute .

He works artistically as a painter, draftsman, caricaturist and book illustrator and writes poetry. He provides his volumes of poetry with his own illustrations, and he also illustrates works by other authors at Grupello Verlag . Klinger lived in Hilden (Rhineland) for more than forty years , he now lives in Berlin . The Wilhelm Fabry Museum in Hilden houses a collection of more than 300 works of caricatures and drawings by Klinger. His caricatures appear regularly in the culture magazine Musenblätter . On his 85th birthday, the Wilhelm Fabry Museum in Hilden organized a monographic exhibition with works by the artist as an homage to his life from March 5 to April 23, 2017.
