Joachim Veyhelmann (born June 17, 1953 in Heilbronn-Böckingen ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the Hessian state parliament since 2013 .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in Bad Dürkheim in 1973 , Joachim Veyhelmann was a regular in the German Armed Forces from 1973 to 1977. In 1980 he graduated from the Federal Defense Administration with a degree in administrative management and from 1980 to 2001 worked in various positions at the Defense Administration in Wiesbaden. From 2001 to 2006 he was personal advisor to the Hessian Minister of Finance Karlheinz Weimar and from 2006 to 2013 he was an advisor at the Hessian Ministry of Finance .

Joachim Veyhelmann is married and has one daughter.

Joachim Veyhelmann has been a member of the CDU since 1975, where he has been a member of the CDU municipal association board in Huenelden and from 1985 to 2011 chairman of the CDU in Hünstelden- Dauborn . From 2000 to 2002 he was deputy CDU district chairman.

From 1985 to 1989 he was a local representative in the local parliament in Huenelden, where he was a member of the building committee. From 1989 until today he is a member of the Limburg-Weilburg district council. In the district council, he has been chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group since 10/2001 and chairman of the school committee since 1993. On April 22, 2016, he was elected chairman of the Limburg-Weilburg district council after the local elections at the constituent meeting .

In the 2013 state elections , Joachim Veyhelmann won the Limburg-Weilburg I constituency with 51.2% of the first votes . He is a member of the Hessian state parliament in the 19th legislative period.

In the state elections in 2018 , Veyhelmann was able to successfully defend his mandate and thus remains a member of the Hessian state parliament.
