Joalsiae Llado

Joalsiae Llado (born November 27, 1974 in Bordeaux ) is a former French long-distance runner .

Life

In 1996 she came in 67th place at the World Cross Country Championships in Stellenbosch , was French U23 champion over 5000 m and in cross running and set a national U23 record over 5000 m with 15: 52.39 min.

In 1997 she won gold at the European Cross Country Championships in Oeiras, both in the individual and in the team classification. The following year she set two French records over 5000 m (15: 16.13 min and 15: 11.26 min), but did not reach the goal at the European Athletics Championships in Budapest over this distance. In 1999 she finished 69th on the short distance at the World Cross Country Championships in Belfast and set the current course record in the Médoc Marathon .

She gave information about the reasons behind her decision to end her sporting career in 2000 in a television report by Pierre Morath, which was broadcast on April 17, 2008 on the Swiss broadcaster TSR 2 under the title Tu seras champion mon fils! was broadcast and dealt with the problem of parents who want to turn their children into top athletes at all costs. In it, she reported that she had been physically abused by her father, who had trained her since childhood, and also sexually abused since she was 18 years old .

Joalsiae Llado now lives near Lausanne , where she runs a sports center.
