Joan Allison

Joan Allison ( Joan Florence Allison, née Page; born June 10, 1947 in Thurnscoe , South Yorkshire ) is a former British middle-distance runner .

At the Olympic Games in 1968 she was eliminated over 800 m in the preliminary run.

In 1970 she won silver over 1500 m for England at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh . The following year she was eighth at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1971 over the same distance.

At the 1972 Olympic Games, she did not get past the first lap over 1500 m .

In 1974 she won silver again in the 1500 m at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch and was fourth in the 800 m .

In 1973 she became English champion over 1500 m.
