Joana Plankl
Joana Plankl (born August 14, 1988 in Graz ; former artist name Petty Joy ) is an Austrian model , playmate , DJ and singer who is mainly active in the genres of progressive house and dance-pop . She became known in particular through the duet Allez Allez with Uno Jahma .
Life
Joana Plankl grew up in Graz as the younger of two siblings. Her parents recognized and encouraged her musical interest from a young age. Her father, himself a guitarist, accompanied Joana on her first appearances. Her parents encouraged her singing talent with professional singing lessons.
She attended an art high school and graduated successfully with a high school diploma. She then moved to Munich to train as a make-up artist and also to work for designers, photographers, fashion shows and MAC cosmetics. She also studied graphic and communication design.
Career
At the beginning of her music career, Joana Plankl mainly dealt with the genres of soul, contemporary R&B , hip-hop and rock. After a few musical projects, she began a career as a DJ and singer in autumn 2011. After a short time she signed a contract with the record label Planet Punk Music and was produced by the German producer ccK.
She plays in well-known clubs around the world. She is also the monthly resident DJane at the radio station Ibiza Global Radio and is booked by several designers for New York Fashion Week 2012 . At the end of 2012 she toured India for a month and played in various clubs in New Delhi , Mumbai , Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkatta and Pune.
Her first single Allez Allez , a collaboration with rapper Uno Jahma, was released on September 29, 2012. Remixes were contributed by various dance projects such as E-Partment or Kris McTwain. The single entered various dance and DJ charts within a week and was also featured on compilations such as We Love Dance and Future Trance . In 2013 a cover version of the song by the German rapper Carlprit was released , which hit the singles charts.
On March 29, 2013, Joana Plankl released the single Cascade , which rose to number 2 on the Austrian iTunes charts.
On September 1st, 2014 she released her third single Ready for you , on which she worked with the Austrian producers DJ Observer, Markus Schulz and Phillipp Kullnig.
In September 2015 Plankl was the Playmate of the Month in the German Playboy edition.
