Pretzen

Pretzen is a church village that belongs to the city of Erding in the Erding district in Upper Bavaria . The zip code is 85435. In 1987 Pretzen had 725 inhabitants, at the end of 2012 the population had grown to 1,369.

location

The village is about 3.4 kilometers south of Erding. The B 388 runs on the northern edge of the village . The Hörlkofener Straße leads through the village. The Sempt , an approximately 40 km long right tributary of the Isar, runs on the western edge of the town .

history

The place was mentioned in a document as Prezzun in the years 991 and 1023. The author of a historical-topographical description of the Erdinggau says in a note that the name Pretzen comes from the pretzel-like shape of the place. In fact, Pretzen is probably a corruption of the original Roman place name Bratananium.

At the beginning of the 19th century, Pretzen belonged to the parish of Altenerding and had 25 houses with 110 inhabitants. Together with Altenerding, Pretzen was incorporated on May 1, 1978.
