Joanna Stone

Joanna "Jo" Stone , married. Joanna Stone-Nixon, (born October 4, 1972 in London ) is a former Australian javelin thrower .

Career

In 1994, Stone, who grew up in England, was the Australian javelin champion and in the same year took fourth place at the Commonwealth Games in Victoria . At the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 , she was fifth.

At the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 , she achieved the greatest success of her career. With a personal best of 68.64 m, she won the silver medal behind Trine Hattestad (68.78 m) and in front of Tanja Damaske (67.12 m). When she won the World Cup in Athletics in Johannesburg in 1998, Stone increased her best to 69.85 m.

She also took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 and Sydney in 2000 , but failed both times in qualifying.

Joanna Stone is 1.72 m tall and had a competition weight of 63 kg.
